Julia Kiseleva has established themself as an artist based in Detroit, Michigan. They’ve received their Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from Wayne State University with a concentration in Printmaking and Drawing. They combine their love of art history and archival print mediums to create entrancing and colorful work. Julia’s collage, printmaking, and painting provide visual commentary on the emotions and experiences surorunding gender stereotypes and the effects of consumerism through advertising.
Julia creates their work by repurposing found text and imagery from printed ephemera collected over time to design nostalgic prints and collages that are finally adorned with a dash of glitter.
Their work has been featured at Tangent Gallery, Wayne State University, Nice Place Detroit, Lawrence Street Art Gallery, Corktown Studio, Flamingo Vintage and more.
